Copernicus and the trial of Galileo
There are two types of of theories for the solar system, which are the geocentric and the heliocentric. the heliocentric theory is that the sun is in the center of the solar system. The other theory is the geocentric also known as the geocentric model. The geocentric model created by Greek astronomers assumed that the celestial bodies moving about the Earth followed perfectly circular paths. this theory was to believe that the the earth was in the center and the other planets and stars revolved around it. the heliocentric theory was created first and the catholic church strongly believed in and enforced. then later on Galileo came up with another theory known as the Geocentric model. this proving that the sun was in the middle and the earth and everything else revolved around it. his theory came was created in the scientific revolution. the trail of galileo was huge. galileo was forced to say that he didnt believe in copernicus's theory to avoid his death. then he was put into house arrest till his envitble death.
